Lavender Oil

Hello again and welcome to this edition of Young Living’s Audio Education Series. I’m Scott Johnson, Young Living’s Director of Global Education and U.S. Sales.

Today we have the opportunity to discuss two very popular essential oils that are soothing to both the mind and the body, namely Lavender and Balsam Fir Essential Oil. Many essential oils users began their journey with essential oils through Lavender. With its extensive benefits, diversity of uses and immeasurable value, Lavender is one of the most well-researched and prized essential oils. It has been used for centuries by countless people to relax, soothe stressed skin, ease occasional muscle soreness and aid sleep. Lavender is very beneficial when applied to stressed skin. Just a couple of drops can go a long way in providing relief. It is also soothing to insect bites and stings. If you want to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, lavender is a good option. You need to just simply massage it into the skin. The aroma of Lavender is very calming and relaxing. A great way to enjoy Lavender is to apply a few drops to the bottom of your feet and a drop or two on your pillow before going to bed. This often helps one sleep more restfully. Infants are often comforted by Lavender’s comforting aroma as well. If you want to soothe sore muscles, Lavender works at both the physical and emotional levels of discomfort, helping you to cope better with occasional soreness. If you’re looking for an alternative to chemical laundry fresheners, you can apply a few drops to a wet cloth and place it in the dryer with your other clothes for a fresh, clean scent.

Idaho Balsam Fir Essential Oil

Now, it’s hard to smell Idaho Balsam Fir without thinking of the winter season and the peace of the outdoors. Its earthy, evergreen scent is soothing to both the mind and body and encourages a general sense of well-being. Idaho Balsam Fir is one of my favorite oils do diffuse because it fill my home with a warm, inviting scent. This unique oil is harvested during the coldest days of the year on our very own farm in northern Idaho. The pristine conditions found there create a great environment for the most potent and beneficial oils to be harvested from the Balsam Fir trees. Like Lavender, Idaho Balsam Fir is very soothing to sore, tired muscles when applied topically. I like to add it on top of other oils like PanAway, Deep Relief, Frankincense and Copaiba for added comfort. It is particularly useful for overworked joints, shoulders, back and soft tissues. With its fresh, herbaceous aroma, it helps one breathe easier and is very grounding and balancing to the mind. Its aroma can quickly correct negative emotions and users often report that grouchy people turn into happy people when they inhale it.

Next time you need to soothe your mind or body, you have two great choices in Lavender and Idaho Balsam Fir.

Until next time, we wish you abundant health and a wonderful day.
