How To Use
- Take 5 half-droppers (1 ml each) morning and evening or as needed as a mineral supplement. May be added to 4-8 oz. of distilled/purified water or juice before drinking. This product contains royal jelly, which may cause allergic reactions.

The article brings up good points, the biggest of which is that most of the food available to us is severely mineral deficient. However, the article totally ignores the most likely culprit: most mass-scale food crops use petrochemical-based fertilizer with only three minerals—nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Yet ocean water has 90 minerals. Crops have continuously sucked as many minerals as possible out of over-farmed soil and only three minerals are regularly added back. I understand your confusion. We are programmed to think of minerals in their isolated forms. So, true, things like mercury, uranium, lead, cadmium should not be ADDED to products. On the other hand, those minerals are part of nature and are NECESSARY. When in their natural forms, in the proper ratios and combinations, they are no problem. For example, arsenic is critical for communication between neurons. Arsenic is found naturally in apples. It’s only when arsenic becomes too abundant in the body due to using its isolated form that it is a problem. Ocean water has every mineral in the world in perfect ratios for what it does. So does blood.
Mineral Essence is essentially concentrated ocean water with some oils and royal jelly added to create better absorption. So think about throwing a lead battery or vile of mercury into the ocean. The ocean will use opposing minerals (and bacteria) to break them down, combine with them, and dilute them so that, eventually, they are once again simply available in their natural, healthy form.
The same happens in your body. Is there too much mercury present? If the body has an abundant supply of other, preferable minerals to work with, it can properly deal with mercury. Fluoride is a great example of this. It is terrible for the thyroid. But when there are appropriate levels of iodine, the thyroid will not uptake fluoride and chlorine which serve as inferior substitutes only when iodine is lacking.
So the key here is to furnish the body with an abundance of ALL the minerals in ratios and combinations provided by nature. Then let the body sort it all out, slowly returning each organ to its proper mineral balance.
The list of 72 minerals came directly from Young Living customer support. And it is important to realize that Young Living did not ADD things like mercury, uranium, lead, cadmium. Those things where put there by nature long before the pollution of the industrial age. If I remember correctly, the base of Mineral Essence comes from a salt mine in Utah where they are digging up ancient deposits of natural salts (all the minerals in the world) that have never been exposed to modern pollution.

The info on your flyer is very inaccurate. It states that the Mineral Essence supplement contains 72 minerals including Arsenic, Lead and Fluoride and Mercury!!! Please remove the flyer. It will be reported to the Young Living Corporate Office
